Ectopic pregnancy ultrasound: What it is, risk
Ectopic Pregnancy Ultrasound is a condition that can
occur when a fertilized egg implants itself outside of the uterus.
The most common site for ectopic pregnancy is the fallopian tube,
but it can also occur in the ovary, cervix, or abdominal cavity.
While an ectopic pregnancy can occur in any woman who becomes pregnant,
there are certain risk factors that make it more likely to happen. These include:
–
Previous ectopic pregnancy.
–
Pelvic inflammatory disease.
– Use of fertility drugs.
– History of surgery on the fallopian tubes or other reproductive organs.
